Casa Almendra

Our stay at Casa Almendra in Hacienda Iguana was nothing short of unforgettable. Spending a week right on the sand with the waves of Playa Colorados practically in our backyard made for the absolute perfect family getaway. From the moment we walked in, the view took our breath away. We loved waking up in the upstairs master bedroom, pulling back the curtains, and immediately checking out the ocean conditions and watching the world-class surf break right at Colorados. Having that same panoramic vantage point while making breakfast in the kitchen or eating together as a family at the dining table made every meal feel special. Between ocean sessions, relaxing with a cold drink in the pool under the shade of the trees, and watching spectacular Nicaraguan sunsets every single evening, the layout of the home made vacationing effortless. Casa Almendra delivered everything we could have hoped for: comfortable accommodations, pristine beachfront location, and front-row seats to one of the prettiest stretches of coast in Nicaragua. We’re already counting down the days until we can return!

Casa Almendra is our go-to property in Hacienda Iguana, and we truly love staying here. The peace and tranquility of the property are unmatched, and the location and interior design are absolutely on point. Every detail feels thoughtfully considered and makes the home such a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. But what really makes Casa Almendra special is the incredible team of staff. We felt so spoiled and genuinely well taken care of throughout our entire stay. A special shoutout to Adelle.... She was an absolute joy every day! Her warmth, kindness, and willingness to help made our stay even more special. Honestly, I wish I could take her home with me to San Clemente! And another shoutout to Yainer, who works tirelessly to keep the pool and grounds in immaculate condition. He takes such pride in his work, and it definitely shows. The property was always beautifully maintained, and we truly appreciated all of his hard work. Casa Almendra really feels like our home away from home in Nicaragua. We’re already looking forward to our next stay!

My husband and 6 month old baby had a wonderful stay at Casa Almendra! The house is super well maintained and comfortable. Has everything you need for a shot or long term stay. Seth and Lindsey at Iguana Surf Rentals could not have been nicer and more accommodating — always quick to respond and understanding. The property itself is gorgeous right in front of the Colorados surf break with an amazing pool and multiple places to sit, relax, listen to the waves and watch surfers. Would 100% recommend staying here.

We've stayed at Casa Almendra for 2+ weeks the last 4 years in a row now. Aside from surfing, we especially enjoy the fabulous swimming pool, amazing at-home massages, and exploring some of the other spots along the Pacific Coast in Nicaragua. But our favorite part for sure are the private chefs arranged by Iguana Surf Rentals. Kennett is the man! And the rest of the staff is amazing as well. Can't wait to come back again next year!!

Our second year at this house and our 10th year going to Hacienda Iguana. A perfect place for a fam jam to relax and reconnect. The house is fantastic (inside and out) and the staff so amazing and accommodating. We felt spoiled and rejuvinated when we left. Thanks to everyone for making it such a wonderful holiday for us!

We just returned from our sixth year at Casa Almendra which is one of the nicest homes in one of the best locations in Hacienda Iguana. Private, clean, modern. All the amenities you would want. Already booked our 7th trip for next year!

Great Property, staff, scenery, etc. etc. etc. Right on the beach and we loved taking a dip in the ocean, playing in the waves, then coming back and relaxing by the pool. Staff was always in a welcoming mood and listened to any requests we had. Seth and Lindsey were awesome and prompt responding to any questions I had. If I had to knit pick about something that could have been better; water pressure in the downstairs showers and construction noise directly next door. Overall, everyone had a BLAST!

This home is perfect for relaxing at a world class beach and surf spot. The layout of the home offers a lot of privacy for two couples because there is an upstairs master and a downstairs master. Additionally, there are two other really nice bedrooms that share a bathroom. The living room area is open and you can watch the ocean while relaxing on the couches or chairs taking in the very unique and beautiful wooden chandelier. It really is a work of art to sit underneath. The staff took such good care of us daily and I was truly sad to leave. The outdoor shower and surf rack is so perfectly placed out of the way and functional. The pool and shade trees are a great place to watch the surf and paddle out when the crowd thins out. If you are considering staying here, stop considering and just pull the trigger, you won't regret it.

Our 3 generation family stayed at Casa Almendra in January 2025 and it was a wonderful venue for all ages. Our young granddaughter especially loved the pool and everyone enjoyed the position on the beach. The kitchen was great for preparing meals snacks and drinks! The bedrooms are comfortable and the house is very clean and well looked after. We all loved the art and the opportunity to learn about it. We all hope to stay again.
